- Its hardness makes it fairly durable, but do take care to protect your emerald from knocks. We recommend that you remove your jewellery before taking part in any physical activity
- Emeralds are not affected by water. However, it is best not to wear your stone at the beach or in the swimming pool

- Store your jewellery in a dry place, away from light and heat

Tumbled stones are pieces of raw mineral that have been carefully shaped by human hands.
This is a mechanical process during which the raw stones are polished.
The minerals are usually placed in a rotating drum containing water and an abrasive. This process takes around ten days.
As the stones rub against one another, they become polished into pebble-like shapes.

The emerald:
The emerald is an exceptional and highly prized gemstone. It is known for its intense green colour.
The emerald is a variety of beryl, a family that also includes morganite and aquamarine.
Its colour is due to the presence of chromium and vanadium impurities in its crystalline structure.
Natural inclusions, often referred to as ‘gardens’, are common in emeralds and make them unique.
Emeralds have often been associated with fertility, rebirth and protection in many cultures.
It is also mentioned several times in the Bible.
Alchemical texts refer to the Emerald Tablet, which is said to contain the secrets of the philosopher’s stone.
It is also said that emeralds were Cleopatra’s favourite stones.
Certain mines in Colombia are famous for producing some of the finest emeralds in the world.
The main emerald deposits are found in Colombia, Zambia, Afghanistan and Ethiopia.
