Symbol of the Tree of Life:
The Tree of Life is a universal symbol found in many cultures around the world. It represents the force of life, growth, wisdom and the connection between all forms of life on Earth. The tree is rooted in the earth whilst stretching its branches towards the sky, symbolising the unity between the earthly and spiritual worlds.
Sodalite:
Sodalite takes its name from sodium: ‘soda’ and the Greek ‘lithos’, meaning stone, in reference to its chemical composition. It was the mineralogist Thomas Thomson who named it in 1811. In fact, its discovery is recent: it dates back only to the early 19th century. It can be both opaque and slightly translucent. It is very rarely transparent. Sodalite is a mineral belonging to the silicate group and, more specifically, to the tectosilicate family. Sodalite exhibits UV luminescence, meaning it will glow when exposed to ultraviolet light.
The main deposits of sodalite are found in Afghanistan, Canada, France, Greenland and Italy.
