Rose quartz:
The origin of the word ‘quartz’ is uncertain. One theory suggests it may derive from the term ‘quaterz’ or ‘quaderz’, which, until the 16th century, referred to lower-quality minerals. Another theory suggests it may be a contraction of the German word ‘gewärz’, meaning ‘growth’ or ‘sprout’. Rose quartz has always been associated with love and fertility in many civilisations. Rose quartz derives its colour from its inclusions: metal oxides, manganese, titanium and dumortierite.
The main deposits of rose quartz are found in Brazil and Madagascar.
