Description
Boulder Opal Pendant
Tumbled Stone Pendant:
Tumbled stones are pieces of raw mineral that have been polished through a mechanical process in which the minerals rub against one another, gradually polishing themselves into the shape of a pebble. Our pendants have been drilled with a hole to thread a cord through. Whether you’re looking to harmonise with the stone’s energy or simply add a natural touch to your style, these are made for you!
Boulder opal:
Boulder opal takes its name from the English word ‘boulder’, meaning a large rock. This term reflects how this opal forms, embedded directly within a rock matrix, which is usually iron or sandstone. Its formation makes it more durable than other opals. Found mainly in Australia, boulder opal forms in cracks in hard rock. It is prized for its bursts of vibrant colours (blue, green, red, purple) contrasting with the dark rock. Each stone is unique, with the rock matrix creating irregular, natural patterns.
The main deposits of boulder opal are in Australia, in the Queensland region.
