- Jade is not affected by water. However, it is best not to wear your stone at the beach or in the swimming pool
- Avoid contact with corrosive products, such as detergents and other household products, which could damage it
- It is also sensitive to acidic products and solvents (vinegar, lemon, acetone, etc.) as well as to perfumes and essential oils
- If your jade seems to have lost its lustre, you can apply a drop of camellia oil or sweet almond oil to the stone using a cotton pad
- Although jade is hard, it may contain micro-cracks that are invisible to the naked eye. It is therefore not advisable to clean it using ultrasonic cleaners.

Jade:
Burmese jade is a variety of jadeite, one of the two mineral species that make up jade, the other being nephrite. The word ‘jade’ derives from the Spanish ‘piedra de ijada’, meaning ‘stone of the flanks’.
This stems from the belief that jade possessed healing properties for internal ailments, particularly kidney-related problems.
During prehistoric times in China, jade gained a reputation as a gemstone imbued with magical powers.Traditionally, it is associated with the following qualities: elegance, resilience, serenity, reserve, purity and virtue.
Jadeite, which includes Burmese jade, is mainly composed of sodium aluminium silicate. Its green colour is due to the presence of chromium and iron.
