Yellow jade:
The word ‘jade’ derives from the Spanish ‘piedra de ijada’, meaning ‘stone of the flanks’.
This stems from the belief that jade had healing properties for internal ailments, particularly kidney problems.
Yellow jade is a rare variety of jadeite and has a less well-documented history than other varieties of jade.
It is also associated with wealth, prosperity and longevity.
