Citrine:
The name ‘citrine’ comes from the Latin ‘citrus’, referring to its yellow colour.
Citrine is a variety of quartz. The yellow to orange colour of citrine is generally due to traces of iron inclusions.
Its hue can vary from pale yellow to deep amber. The most valuable citrines are those with the most vivid colours.
Citrine is generally transparent to translucent. It can be found alongside amethyst and other varieties of quartz.
Brazil, in particular, is renowned for the quality of its citrines.
