Bracelet Size Guide
Measuring your wrist: Use a flexible measuring tape, or a piece of string that you can then measure against a ruler. Wrap it around your wrist to determine your reference measurement. The average bracelet size is 18 cm for women and 21 cm for men.
Bead diameter: If you choose beads measuring 10 mm in diameter, add 1 to 2 cm to your usual size.
If the bracelet you ordered is not the right size, we can adjust it free of charge in our workshops. Simply return it to us by post and let us know what changes you require. Any additional stones needed may be charged separately.
- Due to its hardness, it is quite durable; however, you should still protect your amethyst from knocks. We recommend that you take off your jewellery before any physical activity.
- Amethyst is not affected by water. However, it is advisable not to wear the stone on the beach or in the swimming pool.
- Prolonged exposure to the sun may cause your amethyst to lose its colour
- Store your jewellery in a dry place, away from light and heat.
- You should also avoid contact with corrosive substances such as cleaning products and other household products that could damage the appliance.

Amethyst is undoubtedly one of the world’s best-known gemstones. Its name derives from the ancient Greek word ‘améthystos’, which means ‘sober’. The ancient Greeks and Romans believed that the stone could protect against drunkenness. They therefore drank from amethyst goblets, as they were convinced that these would prevent intoxication. The oldest known deposits to date are found in Egypt (Wadi el-Hudi). Inscriptions discovered on stelae at this site refer to the goddess Hathor as the ‘Lady of Amethyst’.
It is also closely associated with the Christian tradition, which regards it as a stone of purity, piety and humility. It adorned the liturgical vestments of bishops. Alchemy regards it as a force of transformation, purification and balance between the material and the spiritual. As it is also associated with royalty, it was incorporated into the jewellery of the nobility. Even today, it adorns the Crown of England.

The tree is rooted in the earth whilst extending its branches towards the sky, symbolising the unity between the earthly and spiritual worlds.
Amethyst:
Amethyst is a variety of quartz known for its violet colour, which can range from pale violet to deep violet. Its violet colour stems from exposure to natural radiation and the presence of iron. The name ‘amethyst’ derives from the Ancient Greek ‘amethystos’, meaning ‘sober’. The ancient Greeks believed that amethyst had the power to prevent drunkenness and loss of control. According to legend, a nymph named Amethystos, in order to escape the advances of Bacchus, was transformed into a white stone statue by the goddess Artemis. Bacchus, in a rage, poured wine over the statue, but every drop of wine that touched the young woman stained the stone purple. Thus associated with sobriety, the ancient Greeks and Romans wore amethyst jewellery and used cups made of this stone to drink wine, believing that this would protect them from excess. This belief in amethyst’s ability to counteract the effects of alcohol has endured. Even today, amethyst is associated with clarity of mind. It is also a stone associated with royalty and was set in the jewellery of the aristocracy; even today, it still adorns the Crown Jewels of England.
The main amethyst deposits are found in Brazil, Uruguay, Russia, Zambia and India.
