Amethyst is undoubtedly one of the world’s best-known gemstones. Its name derives from the ancient Greek word ‘améthystos’, which means ‘sober’. The ancient Greeks and Romans believed that the stone could protect against drunkenness. They therefore drank from amethyst goblets, as they were convinced that these would prevent intoxication. The oldest known deposits to date are found in Egypt (Wadi el-Hudi). Inscriptions discovered on stelae at this site refer to the goddess Hathor as the ‘Lady of Amethyst’.
It is also closely associated with the Christian tradition, which regards it as a stone of purity, piety and humility. It adorned the liturgical vestments of bishops. Alchemy regards it as a force of transformation, purification and balance between the material and the spiritual. As it is also associated with royalty, it was incorporated into the jewellery of the nobility. Even today, it adorns the Crown of England.
Amethyst is an absolute must-have in crystal healing and a remarkable cleansing stone, traditionally known for expanding consciousness and awakening spirituality. It acts as a bath of serenity and radiates a calming energy that is ideal for relieving anxiety and everyday stress, thereby promoting deep, restful sleep free from nightmares. It fosters inner harmony, contributes to emotional balance and, at the same time, opens the doors to intuition. Whether worn as jewellery or placed in the home, amethyst remains a valuable guide for all who seek wisdom and mental clarity.

Lavender Amethyst Bracelet FAQ
What is the difference between dark amethyst and lavender amethyst?
These variations depend on the concentration of iron and the natural irradiation experienced by the quartz during its formation. Dark amethyst, often of particularly high quality from Uruguay or Brazil, displays a deep, intense violet colour and is highly sought after in crystal healing for its vibrational energy. Lavender amethyst features soft, translucent and luminous pastel shades, making it ideal for those seeking a more subtle, poetic and relaxing energy.
Is the colour of lavender amethyst natural?
Its pale colour is a natural phenomenon linked to its geological formation. It does not indicate that the stone is synthetic, nor is it the result of dark amethyst being faded by sunlight or artificial treatment. Lavender amethyst is therefore neither damaged nor of inferior quality. It is a distinct variety valued for its characteristic softness and luminosity.
What properties are associated with an amethyst bracelet in crystal healing?
Amethyst is considered a stone of balance, purification and serenity. It is traditionally used to calm the mind, ease anxiety and awaken intuition. Associated with the third-eye and crown chakras, it is believed to encourage spirituality and inner wisdom. Wearing an amethyst bracelet every day is said to promote a sense of serenity.
How should I cleanse and recharge my amethyst bracelet?
To cleanse your bracelet without damaging its silicone elastic cord, briefly rinse it under cold water or place it on a Flower of Life for a few hours. To recharge it, preferably expose it to the light of the full moon or place it on a quartz geode. Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight, as UV rays may eventually dull and fade the unique violet colour of your amethyst.
Can I sleep while wearing my lavender amethyst bracelet?
Yes, amethyst is known for promoting restful sleep. Its gentle, soothing energy makes it suitable for extended wear. However, sleeping with a bracelet featuring larger beads measuring 8 to 10 mm may be uncomfortable.
Description
Lavender Amethyst Bracelet, 6mm beads
The 6mm lavender amethyst beads create one of the most understated bracelets in our range. Their pale lilac, almost translucent hue gives an impression of delicate lightness, yet they still catch the eye. Their soft pastel tones soothe the flow of thoughts and dispel mental stress; it is also said to ward off nightmares.
The 6mm lavender amethyst beads layer beautifully: with moonstone for an ethereal glow, with rose quartz for a soft palette, or with darker varieties for a delicate gradient effect.
Craftsmanship & expertise
Every Sudamerica Stones bracelet is hand-strung in our Geneva workshop, with each bead carefully selected one by one for its beauty. The silicone thread is chosen for its flexibility and strength. We guarantee it against breakage for one year. Because every amethyst is unique, the bracelet you receive may differ slightly from the photos — this is the hallmark of a natural piece.
About Lavender Amethyst
Lavender amethyst is a light-coloured variety whose pastel shades evoke the flower of the same name. In crystal healing, this variety is said to be gentler than darker specimens. It remains associated with wisdom and spiritual elevation but is particularly prized for its soothing properties.
