- Its hardness makes it relatively durable, but do take care to protect your kunzite from knocks. We recommend that you remove your jewellery before taking part in any physical activity
- Protect your kunzite from UV light, which can cause it to lose its colour
- Kunzite is not affected by water. However, it is best not to wear your stone at the beach or in the swimming pool
- Avoid contact with corrosive substances, such as detergents and other household products, which could damage it
- Store your jewellery in a dry place, away from light and heat

Kunzite:
Kunzite takes its name from the first gemmologist to identify it: George Frederick Kunz.
Its pink to violet colour is due to the presence of manganese. Its colour can vary depending on the amount of manganese present during its formation.
Kunzite is a variety of spodumene. It is composed of lithium, beryllium and aluminium silicate.
Kunzite forms in spodumene deposits around the world. It grows as elongated prismatic crystals.
Spodumene, whose name derives from Greek and means ‘ash-coloured’ due to its often grey colour.
Spodumene exhibits the phenomenon of phosphorescence. It is capable of emitting light in the dark after being exposed to the ultraviolet rays of natural light.
The main deposits of kunzite are found in Brazil, Afghanistan, Madagascar and the United States.
