Golden obsidian:
What sets golden obsidian apart from other varieties of obsidian are the inclusions of magnetite, a mineral containing iron. These inclusions are responsible for its golden sheen. Obsidian is a vitreous volcanic rock, formed from rapidly cooled lava. It is also referred to as volcanic glass. Obsidian is formed during eruptions from silica-rich lava that cools so quickly that crystals do not have time to form. Unlike minerals, obsidian is an amorphous rock, which means it has no crystalline structure.
The main deposits of golden obsidian are found in: Mexico, the United States, Turkey, Armenia, Iceland and Italy
